Campus Assistance Response and Engagement (CARE) - This site contains information to assist you in accessing on and off campus resources. Specifically, resources such as food security, housing needs, mental health, medical services, alcohol and other drug treatment, and other basic need resources are shared. The general purpose of CARE is to be a safe and trusting campus resource to assist and support students navigating with non-academic needs and issues.
Counseling and Psychological Services (C.A.P.S.) - The main goal at Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) is to promote the well being of HSU students through outreach, consultation, and counseling services. We aspire to help students strive emotionally, psychologically, relationally, and intellectually. Our Services are available to regularly enrolled students from Humboldt State University. There are no per-session charges for these services.
Peer Health Educators (Check It Program) - Health & Wellness education currently provides a multifaceted approach to health promotion and communication. The philosophy of HSUs health education program is one that centers the connections between health, our identities, and to the physical place in which we live. Because of this we need to take in to account the vast diversity of our student body and the ways in which intersecting oppression, place based learning, and systems of power and privilege relate to that way we communicate and receive information on health & wellness.
Federal TRIO Programs - The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post baccalaureate programs. TRIO also includes a training program for directors and staff of TRIO projects.
OhSnap - We aim to provide our fellow students with basic necessities and connections to community resources. Our services currently include a campus food pantry, a weekly stand with free fresh fruits and vegetables (during the growing season), CalFresh application assistance, connections to other local food resources, and outreach events. We provide CalFresh assistance to anyone who needs it, however our pantry and food redistribution services are for matriculated HSU students only.
